Today Louise, the Di Murini model and trainer, appeared on the BBC Radio Leicester Tony Wadsworth Programme to discuss her experience of breast cancer, her role within Di Murini and the new mastectomy bra fitting course that Di Murini is running in conjunction with De Montfort University.
Di Murini is inviting women who have had a mastectomy to test a new range of specialist mastectomy bras.
Leicester company Di Murini is increasing its designer mastectomy lingerie collection to provide for larger cup and back sizes, and is searching for women to try out the new Di Murini lines to raise funds for the Coping With Cancer charity.
Di Murini is going to donate £25 to the charity for every woman who is willing to test fit a mastectomy bra. Di Murini require women with a group of sizes, from 32E to 42DD. Ladies will need to go to two fittings at the Coping With Cancer office at Helen Webb House, Westleigh Road, Leicester and then give their views and ideas. The Rowena red mastectomy bra and briefs set has just been released in lingerie stores worldwide at a price of £45.00 .
This stunning mastectomy bra is ideal for a quiet night in or for an evening function.
This luxury mastectomy bra is made in deep red Italian satin with a classic French black lace appliqué intertwined with silver thread. The appliqué on the bra lies flat allowing it to be used underneath clothing that is tight fitting.
As with other Di Murini mastectomy bras and mastectomy camisoles it has the Di Murini ‘pocket release system’ patent pending.
The bra is lined fully with soothing cotton that is infused with Aloe Vera. To prevent irritation to the skin the bra has no tags present whilst the washing instructions are printed instead of being on a tag. The mastectomy bra has adjusters for the straps on the front for easy use.
This Rowena mastectomy bra is also now available in pink, ivory and black. Contact your local lingerie store to view the full range as we are currently in stores in Sweden, Canada, Australia, France, Ireland and the UK. Stores in New Zealand, USA, South Africa Germany, Norway and Switzerland will be registering in the next three months.
If the lingerie store isn’t currently one of our retailers then you may like to ask them to contact us to register with us and we can express ship direct to the mastectomy store?

Recent developments in cancer research hailing from Australia bring hope for the future and the treatment of breast cancer suffers. Scientists have suggested that they may have found a way to encourage the body to re-grow after treatments such as a mastectomy.
Human trials are set to begin within the next three to six months and if successful could replace breast implants or reconstructions. Despite researchers expecting it to take at least three years before the technique is fully developed it is positive and exciting news to women all over the globe.
According to The Guardian ‘the procedure involves inserting a biodegradable chamber into the woman’s chest, contoured to match her natural breast shape and containing stem cells from her own fat tissue. These cells will divide and grow to recreate the permanent fat found in breasts’.
In the future the impact of this development will hopefully reach much further than to those battling breast cancer.

Research by Breakthrough Breast Cancer scientists in Edinburgh has discovered a new trait in breast cancer cases. The scientists state that 40% of breast cancer tumours change form when they spread to other parts of the body. This means that patients, who continue with the same treatment without further investigation, may be taking medication that will not work.
They analysed 211 tumours which had spread from breast cancer to the lymph nodes under the armpit and found that the disease changed form in a large number of cases. For example, 20 tumours changed from oestrogen receptor (ER) negative to ER positive. This means that hormone therapies that would not have helped the original cancer could be used to treat the changed form of cancer. Other tumours changed from ER positive to ER negative, leading to patients having treatment which would not benefit, and they have to experience the side effects for no positive reason.
Of the 46000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, 40% experience the cancer spreading to the lymph nodes. It is vital that women receive the correct treatment, particularly as cancer cells which spread in this way are more difficult to treat.
The scientists state that a clinical trial must ensue, to further research into this discovery and see how they can benefit patients. This research must be done before its approval on the NHS.
